I have a 2011 MCS and I'm getting ready for my 1st performance mods. I have limited funds to throw at this, so I have been thinking about a CAI and a rear sway bar.
Any suggestions on either part? I was thinking ALTA or NM. But I'm open to suggestions. Thanks!

Alta Rear Sway Bar. FYI, the OEM "Sport Suspension" RSB is 18mm. So, rather than just get a 19mm Bar I put a 22mm Bar on mine and put it in the softest setting.
CAI, maybe not, but an Intercooler Upgrade will make a difference as well as a 2-1/2" Catback Exhaust System. |

The intercooler & exhaust would be awesome... down the road. I'm trying to stay at or around $600, right now.

VIP Custom Parts has a nice CAI and catback system for a reasonable price. They make good quality stuff. A rear bar is a great upgrade. Agree a 22 is the way to go. Get one that is adjustable. If it has zerk fittings for lubrication that's a plus

VIP Custom are nice folks with which to do business. I bought my light bar from them and they customized it further for the then new style MINI W/N18 engine.

Has anyone added zerks to the bar mounts? I have zerks on our '09MINI but not the '11 and I probably will regret it in the future. |

An air cleaner improvement, maybe. I don't know if the OEM JCW box and filter will work as an improvement but it would be worth checking out.
As for cold air you might get an improvement from insulating the existing cold air tubing and or putting gold reflective material on the tubing to keep engine compartment heat away from the air system.
