Hi everyone. I'm starting a new thread because Jan's flight was cancelled and the old thread was getting way too long. 

New dates have been confirmed for February 3 and 4. 

However --- there are three of us (at least) who are unable to make these new dates because we will be out of town. 

So... is there ANYONE who we can bribe to drive our MINIs down to Tacoma for the tune?? 



I'm envisioning dropping off the car key in advance, and then then much appreciated volunteer would come pick up the car, drive to Tacoma, enjoy a free meal while waiting for the tune to be completed, then drive the car back. 

We have been waiting for years in some cases and really need the power of the club to make this a reality! 

Tune customers needing 'rides' - let's post our locations and cast ourselves upon the mercy of the club to help us out here! 

I'm located in Bothell.

MINI Thunder III registration is now open. 


Typically there is a full day Hooked on Driving track day the day before MINI Thunder - that gets you two full days on the Thunderhill track. I did it in 2011 and it was a blast. 


 


Here is info from Norm Nelson, the event organizer: 

 

"Join us for this all day track event of HPDI (High Performance Driving Instruction) at the SCCA track at Willows California.

This track was designed and built by the members of the San Francisco SCCA. It's a wonderful track with great facilities.

We are limiting the number to 120 MINI/MInis. This will give enough time and instructors for every driver. We will have groups ranging from first timers to advanced.

The cost is $199 per entrant or $275 for those that want to share a Mini. This includes loads of track time, turn workers, tow-trucks, flaggers, instructors, lunch, & T-shirts. For shared entries the 1st T-Shirt is included for the primary driver and the second to be purchased @ $15 in sizes of S,M,L, XL, 2XL.

T-Shirts will be available  in sizes small, medium, large, XL, and 2XL, larger shirts  (3XL, 4XL, etc) must be purchased in advanced and will be at $25.00 ea.

This event is for MINI/Mini Coopers only, any model or variation."

Greetings:
 
For the last 30 years, the MG Car Club Northwest Centre has hosted the Tulip Rallye, an automobile  tour of the Skagit Valley region of Western Washington State.  This year on April 21st, 2012, the rallye starts in the Mount Vernon area, but you never know where it may take you from there. Through colorful tulip fields, windy country roads or scenic shoreline drives, it’s everything you need for a beautiful daytime tour of the region.
 
We have designed this event so that each car club, with a minimum of five cars entered, will be eligible for a first place prize to be awarded to the top performer within their club. Individuals not associated with a particular car club will compete in the “open” category.
 
The Tulip Rallye is intended to be a fun event.  It’s not a time/speed/distance event, but a light hearted gimmick rallye with trivia questions written into the tour guide.  It’s fun for the whole family.  Some clubs now make this rallye their April driving event.
 
There are restaurants along the tour route, but they are often very crowded, so we recommend that you pack a picnic lunch to eat along the way.
 
We look forward to your club’s participation in the 31st Annual Tulip Rallye.   For your convenience, we have attached the entry form.
