Your car is too new, I think. Others can confirm, but I think that the 2011 and 2012 R56 is not yet crackable. 
The Alta Access port is still not working for 2011+ cars, so chances are, you're right.

Based on the reading I did it sounds like the tensioner.  Call and get an appt.

Hey Everyone,
Thanks for the suggestions. i am running premium gas, and my work commute is all highway, about 40 miles roundtrip. I had not heard about the tensioner that will be my next step. Interesting enough there was no knock today, it does not happen everyday.

Your car is too new, I think. Others can confirm, but I think that the 2011 and 2012 R56 is not yet crackable.

I am still in China and haven't driven the car since the tune (Erhan took the car down to get the tune for me), but probably not. I had been spinning my Dunlops Starspecs a lot as I have been running them during the winter due to lack of a cold weather all season tire. 
So I probably need a limited slip differential next (I was hoping to put that off until my clutch goes out) and a set of non-summer tires...

I know this is an older thread but I'm running an "ebay" OBX header ($125), had it ceramic coated at performance coatings in Auburn, and had a stock cat welded on.  It's connected to a Dinan exhaust.  Haven't thrown any codes and I haven't had Jan retune it since adding the headers.  Seems to work well.  I'd rather have the RMW header but can't afford it.
