I was planning on eventually selling my dd and buying a new car but found one I had to get. I found a 2006 Mini cooper JCW Checkmate edition with only 25,000 miles. It has almost every option that was offered. When I took it to the mini dealership after I bought it they were surprised that it had everything that it has. It has the chrono package which the dealership said was the 2nd one they have ever seen, wilwood big brake kit, JCW 18 inch wheels, premium package, cold weather package, jcw package and checkmate package.

I look forward to going to the meet that is coming up and bringing the car. So far I really like the car and I am sure that I will like it more after I have it for a while.

Wow that is a gorgeous mini! And amazing miles on that year. You should compare cars with hipcheck's checkmate. You will have so much fun in this beast.

Name for it yet?

You might peek inside the wheel wells you don't look like you are riding at stock height. But it might just be the pictures but you might check.

Since I noticed that the rear tires were wearing abnormally on the inside I decided to buy adjustable camber links to fix the camber. I decided to go with Hotchkis links since they were the most recommended and reasonably priced. I had read that there was some stock adjustment built in from the factory but I didn't want to spend $100+ on an alignment and then be told that I would need adjustable links to get the camber into spec. when I removed the outer bolt from the control camber link it was in the position for the most camber so the camber could have possibly been fixed by just having an alignment but the new links look better. Smile

before with stock camber links

after with new camber links

I had this Subaru ball lying around and decided to through it on the antenna since I have seen other people with things on their antenna.

I have the same links. They have served me well so far. My car is a 2004 and doesn't seem to have the adjustable bolts that other people are mentioning.

Where the link connects near the wheel the bolt is eccentric and you can adjust it. The slot that the bolt is in is probably 0.5" - .75" long. From what I read it still wasn't enough to fix camber on lowered cars.

Thanks! It was my first experience under my Mini. It turns out that after I installed the links my camber was in spec. Minis are supposed to have negative camber so we will see how the rear tires wear now. If they still wear out the inner tire then I will have someone take all of the camber out of the rear. Cantrell Motorsports did an excellent job on my alignment and had a very impressive shop.
