Awesome. I'd love to have a ride-along in this thing.
However the only thing 'stock' about this car seems to be the headlamps, door handles, name badge and maybe the windscreen?

The boys were doing good and holding in the top 10 but lost an hour because of a blown brake rotor which droped them out of the top 30. But today they are climbing back up.
For those that want they can watch the race on VS . |

They were doing good before they had mechanical problems.They have been running around 10 minutes out from the VW.

Looks like the Boys are back up to 14th overall, 7th for stage 5 section 2. Robby Gordon is out with the Hummer.

Robby Gordon had a rough time of it. Needed a new front wheel bearing only to wait around a couple hours for his backup parts car only to find that he had been passed why in for a fuel stop. That's gotta suck.

I saw some race highlights and they showed a picture of the Countryman in a ditch with driver and nav both walking around it trying to figure out how to get it out. They called it, "The Unproven MINI" when they mentioned the vehicle.

The boys have reeled in 2 more spots and are sitting in 9th now. It is funny Rob how they name everything, Unproven because it is its first race, the leader is the Matador. Likely out side of magor problems that the countryman will make up 2hrs and 45 mins is unlikly but still a great showing so far. Also everyone should know Mark Miller of the US is in 6th for VW.

Bummer, just like the Hummers - not good news, even though there are still cars out on the course for todays stage 7, the MINI has not yet finished and according to the report the driver "ruining the MINI Countryman (summersaulting) he was required to bring back to Buenos Aires in one piece" apparently has failed to do so.

Wow, what is left is right, totally trashed. Not much left but the cage. It'll be curious to see if this team will be back or the effort gets a factory support ride. Some problems could be expected for a first time effort but this does not bode well for the driver or the team which is unfortunate as just before the break they finished with relatively the same time as the BMW lead car. That's racing...

The bad thing is if I understood right they weren't even racing at the time they were testing and some and Chicherit launched it. Dang thing was thewy where back up to 9 and consistly finishing in 7th.
