Hip check - Good to know all is well, my thoughts were that you may need video of what happened to help with the accident claim but I was too far back and still coming around the enterance when the incident happened. All I saw was a van running over cones, didn't even dawn on me that something else had happended. Glad you didn't need the video because I don't have it, my video covers the run up until we parked but was offline during the van incident.

I'm glad you didn't get it on film. I'd hate to relive that moment and see how close I really came to losing my front end. It's bad enough recounting the event for the insurance company. His insurance is taking care of everything (except his own damage) so all is well. I even get new 3M protection on both mirrors which is good because it was starting to turn yellow.

WOW! What a GREAT Day! This was our (Steve & Kris) first ever Mini event.... and what a great one to start off with!
Didn't know quite what to expect as we approached the parking lot... but then we spotted all the other Mini's and the familiar smiles on their owners faces! Everyone made us feel so welcome! Now... if we could only remember everyone's names!
Our favorite part - yes, even more enjoyable then the wine tasting - was seeing the string of Mini's ahead of us and in our rear view mirrors as we would through the woods of Normandy Park! That was cool!
Alison & John - Thank you for organizing this excursion and for your efforts in keeping us all together on our drive. Not an easy task in an urban area. Kudos to you both!
To our fellow members of the PSMINI Club - Thanks for making this event so much fun. No doubt about it... you'll be seeing us - and our Jet Black Mini at future events!

Thanks Allison and everyone who played a part in making this such a fun event! We hadn't seen many of you in so long, it was great to catch up! We had a blast and came home with a full boot!

Thanks for sharing your pics! I especially love the one of Karen backing in the cars - besides catching her in action, it's great the way the picnic table tops fit right in with the sunroofs of the MINIs, especially the roofs that are popped up! I love that!

Alison and John What can I say that hasn't been said already. Pretty much nothing, but of course that's never stopped me before.....  Fantastic job organizing and thanks for the extra wine tokens, they were put to good use...Thought I'd add a few photos of the drivers meeting  GR8SCOT ready to lead the way to the wine festival...  A lot of pointing and looking.......   Nothing like a line of minis cresting a hill.....  On second thought, nothing like a line of minis entering a curve.....  Everyone watching Gordon and GenieB taking photos at the water...  And of course watching Karen back them in...  Am I the only one dying to know what Karen is saying here..... Maybe it was something as simple as, "Curves thataway..." Or, "wine tasting that way"... Thanks again Alison, great to see everyone. Mitch, I'm still in a state of shock from that lunatic in the van. Genie - You should be one of our "official" PSMINI photographers.
 Mitch - I'm really sorry about the mishap with that crazy guy in the van. Apparently, he was in a BIG hurry to taste some wine.
 I hope you had a great time despite the damage to your MINI's mirror. Thank goodness it wasn't worse. He came up behind me and layed on the horn because he couldn't get around me. I had pulled up alongside Sticky "Steve" to chat with him while we waited patiently to park. Geez, some people can be so impatient! I had to laugh when I saw the side of his van with a crease and scrap marks along the whole passenger side.  Did anyone get a photo of that? |

Here's a BIG THANKS to Alison and John for a awsome drive I started in the middle and after seeing a Ford pickup cutting in bebind me and saw how slow he was going I new we lost some MINIS all of a sudden I was taking up the rear I was suprised to see shortly after that the MINIS that were behind me were now up ahead of me
 they some how I think thanks to John found the pack and re-grouped. At the last all stop sign we had John made a jesture to me to go ahead of him and I did what I am going to call the "GUMBY DASH" and Zipped down on the wrong side of the road and blocked with my emergency flashers on the on comming flow of traffic to get all the MINIS back in single file and on their way to the wine tasteing extravaganza

OMG! So very sorry your MINI and YOU TWO suffered trama on what was a great outing!!! Glad to see that the damage was limited to the mirror - thanks to the alert MINI people behind you.
I was further up in the line, but heard the commotion - the van guy was beeping his horn, and as I saw him trying to get around the MINI line-up, I thought "WOW! What an impatient jerk!" Sounds like maybe he wasn't 'all there'. Glad you still had fun inspite of it all - a little wine probably helped calm your nerves.
