They have just announced that for the first time since 1999, Artist Point will not be opened at all this summer. It is still under 30 feet of snow and it would be too expensive to clear it all out.

Yea, I did it last year a few days after I picked up my new MINI. It was great fun! I went mid-week so it wasn't crowded. When I lived in NYC, there were times I couldn't find my car and we had 4-5' of snow, so I can't imagine what 30' even looks like Smile

There was an aritcle in the paper recently alerting hikers that on their summer hikes this year they may run into snow at lower levels than usual.
