Most non-MINI people would not recognize the difference between the years/models of MINI.
To bad you were not a winner! Maybe on the next bag? |
|
I wish there was a local MINI Dealership, like our Honda, Subaru, Mazada and VW.

Back of current (May 2015) 2 3/4 oz. Lays potato chip bag. Code has been redeemed and is not a winner. The prize car is a Nissan 370Z roadster. A MINI is not one of the prizes! That's clearly a first generation convertible so I'm not sure you'd give away a used car in a national prize promotion anyway. Val Edited by valvashon - May/26/15 at 4:29pm |

It could be a market development technique. Cause heart attacks to free up spots for younger, lower maintenance customers who can pay the same high monthly rates.

This one was taken a long time ago (January, 2010!) Just resurfaced during a computer cleaning:
I was hesitant to post this; the Yelp reviews are mixed at best. Just a reminder that there are lots of really qualified shops that will work on your MINI and don't have the word "tender" in the name. Sharp eyed readers will notice that they have mis-spelled "Volkswagen" in their giant bus ad! What's that silver thing in the bottom of the photo? That is surely to raise some hackles!
John Lennon expressed something similar in biblical reference and it did not turn out to well for him... Edited by SMOG - September/18/13 at 6:25am |

Here's a screen grab (OK, an HD set with the screen set to "freeze" and a camera shot of that screen) from a current Wendy's commercial. What's behind that Ford with the poorly obscured logo? A Silk Green MINI!:
Why not switch the two cars I wonder. A chair on a roof rack would be even funnier on a MINI. Bruce |

The theme this week is to resurrect old threads, so here's another one:
This is an ad in this year's "Ski Washington" magazine. I was up at Crystal Mountain this morning for work and saw the poster version of this ad up in the resort. Interesting choice of cars for the ad as I didn't see any MINIs in the parking lot. Not that you can't drive in the snow in them, but AWD Subarus seem to be the skiers choice. Subaru even sponsors the website seen in the ad above. Guess the back end of a MINI is more attractive than any view of a Subaru! I did check out the new Gondola that opens in December. I envision a MINI drive up there in the summer (easier to plan weatherwise, less crowded) as Crystal Mountain Boulevard is fun to drive on even though it isn't in the best of shape, followed by a gondola ride and brunch/lunch/something at the restaurant up at the top. Just an idea at this point. Stacie will stay in the parking lot and guard the cars. Bruce Edited by valvashon - November/19/10 at 8:56pm |

I think its funny how they dont know the difference between a car or crossover or suv. The commercial should point out what percentage loss of value after 5 years the GMC garbage loses compared to the mini. MINIs rule!!!!
