Registration and set-up begins at 8:00 and closes at 9:30. The show begins at 10:00 and we estimate it to go until 2:00 with the awards ceramony starting at 2:00

Pre-Registration is now open.  You'll find a PDF file here or a Word doc here that will allow you to fill in the registration info and then send it back and pay with the PayPal link.  Members will be receiving an email invitation allowing them to pre-register.

Discount coupons for regular sized root beer floats will be given to all pre-registered/pre-paid participants. (1) per pre-paid registration/payment only.

Registering for the show and paying the registration fee supports the club and allows these types of events to take place.  The goal of all events is to be self sustaining as much as possible - if only those who want to compete pay the fees, we will not be able to continue having these events as there are overhead costs for items other than trophies and awards.  Of course registering is optional, but only registered cars will be allowed in the show area.  Please consider supporting the club events and making sure we can continue to offer a variety of events for our members.

How much is the Registration fee, and is it an option to pay in advance?

If not, and we pay at the show, are you accepting checks, or cash-only?

$15.00 Registration fee...the PS Mini site is getting set-up for Pre-registration, we'll announce when things are all set.

 
I hope everyone chooses to go this route. Like Jack had said, it gives us operating funds and makes the day of the event less stressful for those that are working the registration booth.

I understand the need for the a registration fee but $15.00.  With 51 cars attending on the list that is $765  The club should not be charging to make a profit.  The registration fee needs to more in line with the expenses associated to this event.

We're not and it is, but thanks for your input.  Part of the reason it's just $15 is that we don't have a lot of the additional expenses we had at LeMay, another situation where we priced the event just to try to cover costs involved.

If this is the case, then post what the expenses are and let the group be involved.  I can not believe an event advertised by the XXX is going to cost the members of this club this much money. 
 
Also how about posting what the final accounting numbers for the LEMAY Show were.

Just to clarify, nobody is aiming to make a profit. The budget for the event is in process of review by the board and is intended to cover expenses. If you have any questions you can refer them to any of the board members. Thanks for your concern. Smile

Thanks Eric - your drives have always been well planned and interesting.  Running this one in reverse should make it quite a challenge.  Oh wait - the course will be in reverse - not the cars....

You know, I just happened to think of something...  we should probably get a sense of just how many are planning on doing the run afterwards, and break out into smaller groups.  Sure, it's fun to have 50+ MINIs all going to the same place, but lets face it, real life intrudes (and real stoplights), and the feasibility of that task just gets smaller and smaller.  Groups of 10 or so might be MUCH more managable.  And making sure that EVERYONE has a copy of the directions (with photos at the trickier spots) makes it more likely that everyone can make it to the end.

I don't object to the Registration Fee (we sometimes pay to enter our other cars in shows), but just curious . . . this was the first I'd seen mention of the fee . . . did I miss it in the original post about the show?  Just wondering if others who may show up to participate are aware of it. I'm guessing if we've invited other clubs, they are aware of it.

BTW:  Thanks to our Organizers  Clap  I'm certain it will be a fanatastic and fun show!

Cool!  I thought the Rat Show was yesterday while we were at the Monroe Parade - would loved to have been there today!  (still find myself thinking about a rat rod MINI - maybe someday)

Regarding the costs and fee, which presumably will be disclosed in some manner in the near future ...
 
I did attend the first real meeting a few Sunday's back to get this event off the ground.  Both issues were discussed in reasonable detail, including all concerns mentioned above.  I left with a complete understanding of XXX's requirements, our club goal to make this a fun MINI event on par with the many other car shows at this renowned venue, and the initial budget figures to make it happen.  It was clearly stated that one underlying objective is to make this event a break-even affair with regards to club finances.  I'm quite comfortable that we're heading in a proper direction.  Thumbs%20Up
