I am drooling over this wheel and really tempted to get one when my car arrives.

Does anyone in the club have one or have experience swapping the steering wheel?  I have the PDF with instructions but am looking for feedback on the process.

Also, do either of the two local dealers offers prices equaling those of Morristown MINI?  They offer the wheel for $485.

Here is a picture of the wheel I'm talking about - http://farm1.static.flickr.com/152/347037566_600e604b02.jpg?v=0

No true HP gain from the wheel but I am sure it feel like it when you've got your grip on it Wink

Those look sweet. They had one on display at Seattle MINI.
That's a cornering mod, not an HP mod. :-)

(Sorry, no experience or advice about how to go about it.)

If you want to avoid sales tax, maybe Rassmussen MINI (Portland) can ship you up one?

Todd...call Seattle MINI and ask what kind of deal they can give you...and remember you get your 10% club discount if you are a member.

On the install just be sure you disconnect the battery and let the car sit about 15 minutes before screwing with the airbag. Then you will be fine.

Tod isn't that a gen one wheel? You might run into problems using that wheel. The airbags are not interchangeable.

You would need one that looks like this,

You might find it adds to the price. http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-cooper/john_cooper_works_steering_wheel

If everything seems under control, you're just not going fast enough.

That picture is. They offer an identical R55 wheel as well.
