So the new autocross season is almost here. The first race is in Bremerton Feb 8th for the WWSCC Slush cup #1.
Time to dust off the sticky tires. Who else is in? Edited by garumph - January/27/09 at 7:14am |

Western Washington Sports Car Council. They've been around for a long, long time and is the governing body for the clubs that hold autocrosses; Bremerton Sports Car Club is one of the nine member clubs.

there are three local groups that hold open autocrosses (as opposed to club member only, like PCA and Corvette Club)
Bremerton Sports Car Club (BSCC) Northwest Region SCCA Western Washington Sport Car Council (WWSCC) Each has their own 8 event season with some practices thrown in. the WWSCC Slush events are a series of warm up events to get ready for the regular season. they were started originally as a way for group of folks to get some seat time prior to the start of the National event calendar in Southern California in March. the events exploded, too many people showed up, so they were made member only. the Event on Feb 8th is open to anyone, but there is a cap on registration. so if you plan on going... pre-register. the 2nd and 3rd events Feb 22 and Mar 8, are member only. You must be a member of a WWSCC club. That includes SCCA and BSCC, so if you ran a BSCC event last year, you are considered a member. To be considered a member of SCCA you must have an annual membership, and not just a weekend membership. All other events are open to anyone (SCCA insurance requires that all participants be members, so they offer a weekend membership at a discount... but if you plan to do more than 4 SCCA events it pays to get an annual membership) the calendar at www.wwscc.org list all the local events hope that helps |

Keith, It looks like you have to pay $20 to be a member of BSCC this year to run. Does my SCCA membership cover BSCC also?

No it doesn't. Their decision to require membership also comes from their insurer... |

I figured. I probably won't even bother with BSCC then. Between SCCA and WWSCC there is plenty to do.
Plus the SCCA and WWSCC events seem to run better. Edited by garumph - January/27/09 at 1:53pm |
