I am thinking of leading a drive to the 2011 Long Beach kite festival on Aug 20th.

Would there be any interest in this drive? Thought we would leave early and drive

HWY 101 to long beach and start the day at the cottage Bakery.

We wish we could do this but my health precludes a full day of activity this year.  Hopefully next year since I only have two more months of ChemoWooHoo.

Thanks for coming up with this idea. I've always wanted to go to the kite festival, but unfortunately, every weekend in August is packed with obligations and commitments. That's what happens when you have a limited number of good-weather weekends - everything's at the same time!

Nice, check out the Nikon D5100 too. My friend has that one and the photos look great. Not sure what Costco gets for it but he's cheep so it couldn't have been too much.
