What a stupid idea!! Didn't it even cross their minds that weather can be dangerous? 
I don't understand why storms are named. It gives a bad 'name' to that name when the storm turns violent. 

In Japan, the typhoons each year are just called "No.1" "No.2" etc. 
Another benefit to the numbering system is you easily know how many tropical depressions there actually have been during that year.

It is easy to know how many hurricanes/tropical depressions also. The names are alphabetic.

Numbers are better.  Yeah, I know there are a certain number of letters in the alphabet but why add an extra layer of confusion.  The KISS principle is best.

Maybe they got the wrong type of Coupe.  The wanted a Coup de e'tat and got a Coup de gras.
