Just checked the registration website.  The info may not be up to date.  As of now, 29 registered, 1 pending, and 13 waitlisted.  I believe 30 people is usually the class size, so I don't think there is any room left unless some people decided not to come.  It may be worthwhile to check.

On the other hand, it seems like there are only 7 volunteers, which is not enough.  You can try that path.  Volunteers get to drive on the open session autocross.

Also, you can be a spectator.  Only thing required is signing a waiver before entering the track.

I assume the open session autocross is a part of the driver training and open to participants, or is this for volunteers only? If so, how does one sign up to volunteer? Wink

Correct, registration is currently full.  Due to some circumstances, I'll either be there as a viewer or volunteer.

Brenda, Woodstock (Linda?) probably won't be going, but I don't know if it's possible to pick up someone else slot either.

Well, now I'm realizing I may not actually be able to attend at all, I need to make a trip to Portland before my parents head to Arizona and that's the only weekend I can before they leave...ugh.

There is a volunteer shortage for the upcoming event.  If anyone interested, please sign up as a volunteer here:  http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/event/event.advert/uidEvent/C4AFA95D-FF11-22BB-438B3711340543FF. Click the “Continue” button at the bottom of the page and begin the registration process as normal; choose “I’m registering as a VOLUNTEER” as soon as the site prompts you.

I hope some of you are able to help...

I am trying to make it out there tomorrow, but it probably won't be until around noon. Sorry I can't commit 100%.  I've got a lot of things to do prior to the PSMINI club event I have on Sunday.

Hi all,

I registered for this event back in August.

HOWEVER, I just found out that I have to work this weekend!!!

Not meaning to start a free-for-all, but please consider my slot available for someone else.

(PS - I've paid nothing in advance)

Regards,
Steve

Sorry I didn't make it out there today. I really need to take this driver skills class. Hopefully I can make the next one.

Right now I'm scrambling to get ready for leading tomorrow's group drive. In the last few days it went from 10 MINIs confirmed to 22 MINIs confirmed. Shocked

To everyone that went to the event today and showed interest in general, THANK YOU and I'm so sorry I couldn't be there today.  I hope that whoever went had a great day, the weather was beautiful, and I hope you all come away with it knowing more about yourself and your MINI!

It really was a great, well-run and organized class. It was pretty intense and we were pooped at the end but really learned a lot!

That's awesome!!  I'm so glad you actually learned from it, I've done it a couple times and each time I learn something I didn't the first time.  So great!!!

Yes, October 30th.  But, I just checked the registration website and as @nadiag mentioned, it is full with 15 people wait listed...  I believe the next season starts around February.

Glad to hear everyone that attented this event had fun & learned something. The PCA skills day  is a REAL VALUE and tons of fun.

There will be another event after Oct 30 and it will be called "Winter Skills Day". You will be assured the weather will be down right NASTY but your learning experience will be heightened. Plus, it's the type of weather we in the Pacific NW deal with for the vast majority of the time. It's really one of the best events of this type all year!!!!

I'll see if I can remember to post the date, it's usually in Jan, and "Trust Me" is usually miserable weather. I've done it TWICE but it's the BEST!!!!

Cheers!

I did the January winter skills day as my first skills day event. It was nearly freezing and wet, with a low hanging fog for parts of the day. But it was a ton of fun!
Highly recommended!

I missed the last PCA event also but the next one would be a fun event if I attended with everyone from here.

It would be cool to see how molly does on the track compared to a rwd m.

When is the next winter date that everyone is thinking of attending or even in the spring time?

I'll need to check, but I don't believe they do them in the winter time due to track conditions, etc.  Most of the exercises rely on a dry/mostly dry course, and if it's too wet/slick out, that can make it dangerous.
