Spotted a Silk Green w/White top MINI at Sandburg Volvo on 99 north of Lynnwood. It's a 2002 (August) and a manual shift with only 50k miles. Really clean from everything we could see, but didn't get a look under the hood. Single female owner - traded in for a C30.
One of my absolute favorite colors and only made in the Cooper model for one year. Stacy Hart has a beauty (MINIMNT) with a silk green top as well and I would love to own one.....but where would I put it? They have it for $11995 as I recall, but I'm sure it's negotiable. We talked to Jim Berus and if you see him and decide to buy it, tell him we sent you. Wish I could figure out a way to buy it..........think Jack would notice?

Linda, Thanks I'll check it out. My first mini I saw was a Sage Green and I wanted one but they no longer made it. So I brought a Gold mini instead which also was only available for a short time thus Cheetah.

I don't see it listed in their inventory. Maybe it just came in. As far as I know, no Silk Green MINIs were made as "S" models- the color was dropped before the "S" model was introduced and/or it wasn't an "S" color. So unless the Midlands was replaced with a Getrag (unlikely but possible in a car with 50K) it has a 5 speed.
You should buy it Linda. Make it your winterbeater (that's what we called them in North Dakota). Out here, it would have the easiest life a winterbeater ever had. Bruce |

I know a teacher at Lynnwood HS who had a SG/W Cooper. Wonder if it is hers?
For someone who wants a unique MINI, this is a rare one. BTW, Silk Green was an original Mini color.

It could have a 6 speed if the transmission was replaced due to 5speed midlands failure. Or, it just has a 6 speed shift knob...

Bruce - you are right about the 5 speed - and no SG S's I could not see the shift knob as the car was up on a platform for display.
Guy at Volvo said the owner needed an automatic due to an injury or something - traded the MINI in for a C30 - This really looks like a nice ride for someone who does not already have more MINI's than drivers in the house...

Jack - I really don't see how that fits into the equation at all. Why does the ratio of MINIs to Drivers matter? We all love our cars and we all drive them a lot. Having more options just gives them a time to rest between Motoring Adventures!
You know you want Linda to have this. Plus, with that big garage, I'm sure there is room to squeeze in one more!

Although it's not on the Sandberg Volvo website, as of 8:45 am on August 9, 2011 it's still there! Looks nice- Silk Green with a white top and 5 spoke wheels. Just sitting there next to the other two (newer ones) they have for sale.
I didn't want to take a picture while leaning out of an obvious broadcast vehicle, or I would have posted a picture. Just an update for those of you who might be getting back into town after a long trip and might be thinking about doing some MINI shopping... Bruce |

FYI I drove past the Volvo dealer on Tuesday and the silk green mini is no longer on the platform. Saw a red & pw in the lot.
