Well I made it to work in the Mini. Stayed at the airport hotel last night didn't want to drive in from home. The Mini goes just fine thank you in the snow. We probably have 4 inches or so here in Kent and it's still coming down. Went through the McDonalds here in town and of course they could only take cash. Apparently snow has interfered with their dish so they can't take CC or debit. So off me and the Mini went to the local BECU bank machine. We cruised right along no problem. Cash in hand back to McDonalds to get my breakfast.

Cruise to the shop and here I sit waiting for the rest of the crew to come in. Generally about 40 people so it will be interesting to see how many actually show up.

It's nice an white outside and very serene.

The Conti DWS work just fine in this snow. No jackrabbit starts and use gearing to slow and no problems.

We have about 2 new inches here so far. Streets are probably fairly good elsewhere, but our hill is completely white at the moment...
Temperature is currently 29F.

Okay it finally started over here at about 7am and now it is all ready pushing 3 inches. Dang I wanted a better chance to see how the DWS's worked but at this rate we will start having very bad drifts on the road to work because of the wind and the 12 degrees. Guess I should go put the snow tires on.
If everything seems under control, you're just not going fast enough.

John, do you need roof insulation or is the bare spots because the snow is blowing off?

Linda and I have been out and about the last couple of days and evenings enjoying the performance of the COUNTYRMAN in the snow, purposly choosing less traveled and unsanded or uplowed roads.  Stopping and starting on ice and snow covered hills has not been a problem - Using sport mode to select a low gear for descending hills works just fine.  DSC seems to keep the back end of the car behind us where it belongs.  Have to say it is probably the best snow car we have had - and that covers quite an assortment including an Audi Quatro Coupe.

Countryman is running the original factory tires:  Continental ContiProcontact SSR.  I'll be keeping thes on the Countryman until they wear out - no complaints about ride, handling, noise or grip (dry, wet, or snow/ice).

Snowing all morning here in Everett - slightly over 12" on the ground.
