Burien 4th of July Parade!!
*Start time at 3pm with staging & decorating beginning at 2pm
Calling out the paraders.
PSMINI is signed up for the Burien 4th Parade. We are limited to 20 (+ or- ) cars, so get your names in soon.
And start thinkin' bout those awesome decorations. I don't believe this parade has an actual "Theme" but we could make-up our own, or just go with summer and flags. I've seem some pictures from the past parades though, and I know there are some really creative MINI decorators out there.
I'll keep you posted as I get any and all information.
My first time being the point person for an event, so suggestions are always welcome. I know that I'll be looking for someone to lead a short "scenic drive" around Three Tree Point after the parade, as we did 2 years ago. (The sylvester bridge road is now open.)

You don't need to worry about any theme or design. A lot of people just decorate their MINI with flags or anything that is Red, White and Blue. I believe the start time for us will be around 3pm, but I'm not 100% sure. I will contact Gretchen (LMNCELO) to find out more about our staging time. Stay tuned...

Yah Hoo, get ready for paradin'. I will be there at one, and I've already signed the release for everyone. Rule number one from the Parade committee is "No one may throw candy, or anything else, from a vehicle". I suppose they mean even us. They didn't say anything about squirt guns though.
They also didn't say anything about Parade Weaving. I am of the opinion that we absolutely PLAN on it, and go with the knowledge that it's easier to get forgiveness than permission. Bring your radio's, sunscreen and jackets, flags and funny hats, and anything else it takes to make a happy MINI Parade. 2:00 is a good time to meet by, I'll let you know exactly where as soon as I find out. I'm stoked that some folks are going to pull off TWO parades in one day. Should I ask if we can start more from the back of the line?? Any questions? Gretchen |
