Eastside Tour 2010

Hello everyone!

This year’s XXX Mini car show is going to include a fun run taking mini owners to parts of East King County experiencing roads you may not have known existed.

This year’s tour is a little different; we are running this on Saturday September 25th the day before the XXX car show in Issaquah.

Meeting / Starting point will be at the N.E. corner parking lot of Kohl’s, in Redmond, Wa.

The address is 17601 Northeast Union Hill Road, and the time is 10:30 am.

We should have all the cars out by 11:30 for about a 90 mile tour with photo stops, leg stretching along the way.  Bring a camera! Take pictures! Share pictures!

The tour will finish at our favorite Mexican restaurant “Ixtapa” on the Redmond ridge.

The address is 22350 Northeast Marketplace Drive Redmond, WA 98053 and I would expect us to be there by 2:00 pm so for people that would rather meet for lunch that’s cool too!

I am going to need a head count for people planning on eating at Ixtapa so I can let them know how many to expect.

This is an event that is part of our Triple X Car Show weekend and one that we have partnered with SAMOA in doing.  It does show up in our flyers, announcements, registration info, etc., and we encourage people to participate.  I realize the other event is going on the same day and people will have to make choices, but I wanted to clarify that this really has been on our radar for some time - just not as a separate post until now.  I don't want to slight either event.....maybe it's the perfect occasion for two MINI families!!! LOL

I can't attend the drive because I'll be working at the Blues and Brews festival all day but if you all want to continue motoring to Des Moines for a beer, brat and some great music, come on down!!

Folks don't forget sign up for this drive when you sign up for the car show so we can get a headcount for lunch on Saturday. The weather is looking good so this should be a nice day for a drive through eastern King county! See you there!

Since I'm not sure everyone noted on their registration if they are also participating in the Saturday Eastside Tour I'd like to get confirmation so our friends at SAMOA can have a good count. if you can tell me if you are doing the drive and how many will be indiviudals in your party will be stopping at Ixtapa for lunch at the end that would be great. That way we can let the staff at Ixtapa know in advance how many to seat. So far I have:

Patti and I ran the course the other night and their were roads I've forgotten about! Fast, Whindy, and did I mention fast.  90 miles of east king county back roads and an awesome lunch to boot. Hope to see you there.

It looks like I will make this drive but I will not do the lunch even though I like Mexican food.  Mui bien ???  My MINI is cageless now!!! and tonight I reinstalled the flooring so I think I will have enough of it put back together to make the drive. 
5 race wins, 2 in the rain. 2nd in ICSCC G Production Championship 2005 and 2006. Now I'm just gonna drive the MINI.

My schedule keeps changing daily but I think I might be able to make this drive.  You can put me down as tentative.  I will more than likely be opting out of lunch. 
 
Should I not be able to make it, I will see all of you at the car show on Sunday.
 
...I dont know when I am going to be able to find time to give Cobalt a wash.  This weather is certainly not helping.

Martin, Catlvr won't be making the drive.  We're opting for the blues and brews festival and using the time earlier to get Catlvr spiffed up.  But we'll see everyone on Sunday all sparkly!

Hi All, It is not to late to sign up. We are meeting at 10:30 and we will probably be out before 11:30. Remember it's about 90 miles with a couple of photo stops and then lunch at Ixtapa on the Redmond Ridge between 1:30 and 2:00. I'm looking forward to running with this group, see you in the morning.
