We took Yonder von Funderhavin into the snow today to see what he really could do.   We were amazed at how well he did on the snow packed roads.   As a matter of fact, coming back from Yakima the Pass required snow chains for all vehicles except those with All Wheel Drive. We drove past tons of cars stuck putting on chains or being forced to turn back. We had no issues at all.   Yahhhooo for the Countryman!!

Looking forward to even more adventures in Yonder!

We were on the 18" run flats that came on him. I don't think they were specifically winter at all.

They must be at least All Season tires!

I tried getting my 2011mcs with AS tires from the factory and Seattle MINI said that I could not.  Sounds fishy to me!  So, my Runflat Summer Tires have been sitting in the garage since day three of owning my MCS (over a year now).

You got luckyThumbs Up

SomethIng to keep in mind is the default on the Countryman is 50/50 . As the car increases in speed the % changes.

We are getting less than Anne and Martin for sure. About 19-21 communitng and the most I've seen on a freeway trip was 25.   It's a little bit of a shocker after driving our 04MCS forever and getting 34 commuting. With that said, I love the car and it's not going to get what my MCS did, it's a totally different machine. For an All wheel drive fun machine it's the best one I've seen!   Hope this helps...

Don't worry guys. I get about 26 on the highway with heavily modded CORNERS and because of the fun I have driving him, lucky to get 20 around town. :-)

I second that!!! What a fun name! Big smile

Wow, that's pretty impressive if you don't have specific winter tires on your Countryman. I hate to say it, but our 2010 Chevrolet Equinox AWD that Steve and I bought new sucks in the snow. It has all-season tires on it and they are absolutely useless. Disapprove I don't think winter tires would help much because the steering/road feel is horrible. I must admit... I'd rather drive my MINI in the snow (providing I'm not plowing since I don't have much ground clearance). LOL
